Marx was for social ownership and democratic control of the collective product of labour and that's what the early German SPD was for. The relation between Marx, the SPD and the French Socialist Party was an interesting one. It might help, if some of the people on the left who are critical or support "Marxism" read what Marx actually wrote about the activities of those parties. Australians who fear "Marxism" are actually reacting to the ideology espoused by Marxist-Leninists, an ideology reflecting more the ideas of August Blanqui than either Marx or Engels or they are reacting to the ideas of strawmen set up by conservative and liberal ideologists. Promoting political ignorance about what Marx and Engels were advocating is a very old game played by both the left and the right.Mike Ballardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05410520975856239745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5952277586613848648.post-62819321581985729452016-06-06T15:17:07.051-07:002016-06-06T15:17:07.051-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mike Ballardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05410520975856239745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5952277586613848648.post-9424775543209778072016-06-05T17:41:11.406-07:002016-06-05T17:41:11.406-07:00To be fair they (Herald-Sun) have published some o...To be fair they (Herald-Sun) have published some of my stuff in the past ; But I'm afraid I may have 'got their backs up' by saying basically that their coverage re the issue of so-called 'record high taxes' was far from balanced.
